Full slab houses are the minority here, but they turn up constantly as additions, converted carports, and the ranch-style builds that went up around Ooltewah and Hixson and out through East Ridge from the sixties on. That mix is what makes locating the leak the whole first half of the job. The plumber isolates hot from cold and pressure tests each side, because knowing which line has failed halves the search area before any equipment comes out.
